Frogs

Bishop, N. (2008). Frogs. New York, NY: Scholastic.

Bishop gives a thorough and detailed account of the life of a multitude of frogs in numerous habitats. While reading this book, readers discover a frog's lifespan, adaptations that allow different types to live in contrasting locations, their life cycle, defenses and eating habits. The book is bright and vibrant with large eye-catching photographs. It has an organized pattern in the delivery of text through each turn of the page with bold text highlighting important information with a large corresponding photograph of the frog being discussed. Bishop's enthusiasm in his topic is evident, and his narrative explanation of his research was an insightful support to the text.
