Twitter- Educational Tech Leaders


Twitter is a social media tool that enables people to connect by sending out Tweets. It allows people to share information that is important to them in short snip-its. You can add links, photos and videos to Tweets to extend the information being sent out. People use Twitter to connect with friends, to follow the lives of people they are interested in or admire and to network with experts and professionals working in like fields. Twitter has an extensive educator community including teachers, administrators, librarians and authors. Included in this post are some of the leaders in education, educational technology and libraries who have a strong active presence on Twitter.

  • American Library Association @ALALibrary – Professional Organization

Tweets about: This organization posts all up-to-date information concerning public & school libraries including award-winning book lists, educational technology, library advocacy and much much more!

Example Tweet: Gave a link to the ALA website sharing resources (booklists, hand-outs, discussion guides and read alikes) to the latest books awarded the Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction & Nonfiction.

 *** Embedded Tweets were used in this blog. Embedding a Tweet is simple: when you find a Tweet you would like to use on your blog, website etc. just click on the symbol of 3 dots beneath the Tweet for “More”. Then click on “Embedded Tweet”, copy the highlighted code and paste it onto your site in the location for HTML. Super simple!
